With all the talk about how Palin is a Good Choice since she has been doing Just Fine running Alaska, it's useful to see Alaska's budget (PDF File) .  Gee...  3+ Billion (as with a "B") dollar surplus for 2008.  Life's easy when the state gives you a dividend of $1,700 (2007 amount).  I wonder how well she'd do with a $1.9 billion dollar PER DAY deficit.  Check out the Debt Clock.  I guess that tells you the magnitude of difference between the state of Alaska and the whole country. 

Yes, I know we're supposed to Lay Off the pregnancy thing.  Tough break for the kid.  The boyfriend sounds like a real gem.  Let's talk about "family values".  I've got a 17 year old kid, so I'm kind of in the loop on this.  I thought a big part of family values is making sure your kids know enough not to get pregnant or get someone pregnant.  Teaching responsibility is a big part of family values.  Guess that part of the family value education plan wasn't part of the Palin family training package.

This leads in my mind to wondering how much Palin pays attention to things.  You would think that the person who is the most visible politician in her state would be making darn sure her kids didn't do something stupid.
