"The Commander in Chief" Right.
Truthout.Org has an interesting article on Palin's leadership of the Alaskan National Guard. When he introduced Palin last week he touted her service as the "Commander in Chief" of the Alaskan National Guard. Turns out she NEVER gave a command to the guard to do anything. Ever.
This just keeps up the pattern...
"She's had a lot of political experience" (Governor of a small state with an impossible-to-screw-up surplus. Oh... and don't forget that little town.)
"She's run the state army" (And never gave an order.)
"She's tough on earmarks" (After having bellied up to the trough plenty of times in the past.)
I was talking to a long-time customer and friend of mine out in North Carolina today. He'd forgotten I live in Saint Paul. He said to me "Guess who I voted for in the primary?" Well...what with him being in North Carolina and all I really didn't want to wager a guess. "Obama...I've been a Republican all my life, but this time it's Obama I'm voting for. There are a lot more like me out here than you might think..." This gives me a real hope that all the yelling & screaming & dancing for Palin at the convention are the reactions of the rabid hard-core, and not the true feeling of the rank and file GOP.
And speaking of pundits...

Hi Gary,
have you realized that J.McC. hasn't worn a 'flag lapel pin' in a while? Not even last night at his acceptance speech.
If I remember correctly mcC and his croons 'attacked' Mr. Obama, because he didn't wear one and called him unpatriotic. What are we going to call mcC now?
And no one in the media picked up on that or mentioned it in any way, or did I miss it?
