SNL
Saturday Night Live has now come and gone for Sarah Palin. I'll put some video clips down at the bottom for those of you that missed her.
Today's NY Times has a column by Alessandra Stanley on Sarah Palin's appearance. It got me to thinking about the old "Where's the Beef" add from back-in-the-day. What Sarah's got going is a lot of sizzle, but very little beef. She'll give us the sizzle of a psuedo-interaction with the press on SNL, but doesn't have the wherewithall to make a real appearance on Meet the Press. She'll gosh-darn-it-all and give you a wink...but she won't come out with a five point plan, a real plan on anything.
I think Gen. Powell said it best when he talked about her running for President. Not vice-President, President. Bumper stickers are starting to show up that say McCain 2008 / Palin 2009.
The SNL piece showed she could entertain. I've yet to see her really lead.
By the way... I'm sure you've gotten that email written by a fellow Wassilian that pretty well slams Sarah. FactCheck looked at it, and, unlike so many emails that are floating around, it's got a lot of truth to it. Read about it here.
As promised, here are the videos:
